- In this year, an Uyghur Turk sued the son of a Chinese Tang Dynasty grand general who had failed to repay a debt of 11 million government-issued copper coins. Emperor Wenzong of Tang soon heard the news, and was so upset that he not only banished the general, but attempted to ban all trade between Chinese and foreigners except for in the goods of livestock. This ban was unsuccessful, and trade with foreigners assumed, especially in maritime affairs overseas.
