Abigail Fowle Smith Edwards was born 7 August 1679 in Charlestown, Suffolk County, Massachusetts to Isaac Fowle (1648-1718) and Beriah Bright (1649-1734) and died circa 18 January 1760 in Charlestown, Suffolk County, Massachusetts of unspecified causes. She married William Smith (1666-1730) circa 1699 in Charlestown, Suffolk County, Massachusetts.


Research Notes

After the death of Capt William Smith, widow Abigail on 26 Aug 1740, married John Edwards (1670-1746), a distinguished Boston silversmith. John Edwards was a widower, his 1st wife was Sibella Sybil Newman (1670-1739).

Abigail Fowle Smith Edwards, was the mother of the Rev William Smith, Jr and grandmother of Abigail Smith Adams, wife of President Adams and mother of President John Quincy Adams.
