Adalbert Holland van Gent was born circa 1004 to Arnold van Gent (c984-) and Lietgarde von Kleve (c987-) . He married Ermengarde of Flanders (c1005-) circa 1021 JL . Notable ancestors include Charlemagne (747-814), Alfred the Great (849-899). Ancestors are from France, Germany, Belgium, the United Kingdom.

Note that Adalbert and his family are found on many genealogical sites, but that there is little proof of the veracity of the information. Adalbert certainly was not Count of Ghent (as such a title never existed) or Viscount of Ghent: Lambert was[1]). Perhaps Lambert and Adalbert were the same person, perhaps Lambert was Adalbert's son or (more likely) brother or cousin.
