He married Margaret Seaman (1862-1936) 6 November 1882 in Crookwell, New South Wales, Australia. Ancestors are from Australia, the United Kingdom.

Obituary

MR. A. McDONALD

The death occurred suddenly at his residence at Binda yesterday, of Mr. Alexander McDonald. The late Mr. McDonald was in his 73rd year and was a very highly esteemed resident of the district. He is survived by a widow and five sons, four daughters and one brother. Sons are John (Binda), Hector (Bigga), Hilton (Binda), Stanley (The Diamonds), and Donald (Binda). Daughters are Mrs. S. McDonald (The Diamonds), Mrs. M. Webster (Crookwell), Mrs. H. King (Binda), and Mrs. A. J. Toole (Laggan). The burial took placed at Binda today at the Church of England portion of Binda Cemetery.
