Alfred was born at Markdale and was christened in 1849. Alfred married Bridget Mary Deehan, daughter of John Deehan and Mary Phelan, in 1879 at Goulburn. He died on July 7, 1896 at Abercrombie River, Georgiana County from Cancer. He is buried at Mount McDonald, Bathurst County, New South Wales.
