Biography
Alfred Raymond Salmon was born 1896 in Kempsey, New South Wales, Australia to Frederick William Salmon (1859-1920) and Agnes Jane Ball (1861-1929) and died 31 October 1937 Fingal, New South Wales, Australia of drowning. He married Una Mabel Thurlow (1902-1970) 21 October 1922 in Murwillumbah, New South Wales, Australia.

Obituary
MURWILLUMBAH, Sunday.
While fishing from the rocks at the Fingal Causeway early this morning Mr Alfred Raymond Salmon (41), a well known Murwillumbah resident, was drowned. It is believed he either slipped or was swept off the rocks into the sea.
Salmon, who had a week-end cottage at Fingal, set out early this morning to fish off the rocks opposite the Lighthouse.
His body was discovered on the beach about 300 yards north of the Lighthouse, about 8.30 a.m., by Mr. E. J. Bartrim, of Tyalgum. Mr. Bartrim notified the Tweed Heads police, who, accompanied by a doctor, examined the body, which was later conveyed to Tweed Heads.
The face and head were severely lacerated. The right leg was fractured at the ankle and the whole of the body so bruised and swollen as to be hardly recognisable.
Salmon's fishing line was recovered by the police at the point of the causeway.
Deceased had been employed in the butchering business of Messrs. Campbell and Salmon, of Murwillumbah, for many years. He is survived by a widow and four children.
