Obituary

Mr. A. W. J. Hoy.

After an illness extending over a period of six weeks, during which he underwent a very serious operation, Mr. Alfred William John Hoy died in the Glen lnnes Hospital on Tuesday evening. On one or two occasions during his period of painful suffering, Mr. Hoy showed much improvement — so much so, in fact, that he was able to return to his home at Kaludabah. However, as the improvement was not maintained, the sufferer re-entered the hospital a fortnight ago, and since then his condition gradually grew worse till the end came on Tuesday, He was in the forty-first year of his life.
The deceased gentleman came from the Walcha district in March last, when he purchased the Kaludabah property from Mr. J. W. Smith, He was a man of fine parts, an execellent neighbor, a man of unbending integrity and personal qualities that won him friends on all hands. His widow, a member of the well-known and highly esteemed Bath family, of Walcha, surives, together with six young children, the oldest of whom is but 12 years of age.
Mrs. Hoy and her fatherless young family will receive the sympathy of all in the loss, in the prime of a splendid manhood, of their breadwinner—an ideal husband and father.
Rev. A. P. Cameron officiated at the funeral to-day. when Mr. H. A. Tutt supervised the interment.
