Sources and notes

‡ General
  • Alpais is also known as Alpaïde, Aupais and Alpals. She was probably a daughter of Louis the Pious (778-840), but some argue that she was a daughter of his father Charlemagne (747-814), in which case she may be one and the same as her aunt Amaudru (?-?) or may be "Alpaida" (794-?), daughter of concubine Amaltrud.
