No birth records exist for Ann who was born after her mother's known relationship with John Hammond (c1775-1812) the soldier father of her elder brother John Chaseling (1799-1876). It is known that her father was not the soldier John Hammond (c1775-1812) as he was sent to Norfolk Island for garrison duty in 1801. Her husband Matthew James Everingham was the sibling of her brother-in-law William Everingham who married her sister Jane, and of her sister-in-law Ann Everingham who married her brother Thomas.
