Obituary

AN old and esteemed resident of Richmond, Mrs. Anne Paterson, passed away at her home on Sunday last, at the age of 68 years, after a long period of ill health, during which she was devotedly nursed by her daughter. Deceased was the widow of the late Alfred Faterson, a well-known district painter of former years and later a member of the staff of the H.A. College, who predeceased her some seven years ago. The late Mrs. Paterson was noted for her work for the P. & C. Association at Richmond, and there was no effort in aid of the Rural School which did not receive her active support. She is survived by a family of two sons, Ike (Auburn) and Ted (Fairfield) and two daughters, Edna (Richmond) and Allie (Mrs. K. Bromley, Melbourne). The funeral took place on Monday, when, after a service in St. Peter's, the remains were laid to rest in the adjoining Church of England cemetery, the Rural Dean (Rev. C. L. Williams) officiating in the unavoidable absence, through illness, of the Rector.
