BRISBANE, Nov. 2.—Mrs. Annie Violet Rudder, who died in Brisbane to-day, was one of Stanthorpe's best known residents.

She was the widow of Mr. William Layton Rudder, who after managing the Royal Bank there, became a stock and station agent. She is survived by one daughter and six sons.

The youngest son is Captain W. L. Rudder, Secretary of the New Settler's League and formerly private secretary to the Governor (Sir John Lavarack).

Her funeral will leave at 9.30 a.m. to-morrow for the Crematorium.

The marriage of Mr. William Layton Rudder, manager of the Royal Bank at Stanthorpe to Miss Violet Raff only daughter of Mr. James Raff, of Eagle Junction (formery of Stanthorpe) was celebrated yesterday afternoon at the English Church St. Colomb's, Clayfield by the Rev. J. B. Armstrong of Stanthorpe, assisted by the Rev H. Simmons. The wedding occasioned much interest and kind feeling as the bride's family is well known in Queensland and she is the granddaughter of the Hon. George Raff, who held, for many years a prominent position in Brisbane, both socially and politically.
