He was the son of John Patrick Langan I (1860-1930) and Catherine Devaney (1863-1956).

Langan I who married May Cornetta (1902-?); and John Langan II (1905) who died as an infant.


He married Anna Fortmuller (c1905-c1985) in Jersey City, in 1937. Anna's parents were Otto J. Fortmuller I; and Mary X.Byrne


Together they had three children.


He died on September 03, 1982 in Wyckoff, Bergen County, New Jersey.


He was buried in Christ the King Cemetery in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey.

Bernard Langan Senior, 78 of Rutherford died Friday. He had been a pressman for the former Newark News and was a parishoner of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Rutherford. Surviving are his wife, Anne Fortmuller Langan; a daughter, Maureen Cole of Norwell, Massachusetts; two sons, Bernard Junior of Wyckoff and Kevin of Morris Plains; a brother, Charles of Jersey City, and 14 grandchildren. Mass will be said Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in Saint Elizabeth's Roman Catholic Church, Wyckoff, with burial in Christ the King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes.
