Bethany Arnold was probably born in Onslow County, North Carolina about 1749. She married John Callaway (1746-1821) about 1768 in North Carolina. Together they raised a family of twelve children. She died in Wilkes County, Georgia on July 10, 1844 and is buried in the Callaway Family Cemetery, Wilkes County, Georgia.
