Boris Danilovich (c1290-May 30, 1320) - Prince of Kostroma.
Biography
Boris Danilovich is the son of Daniil Alexandrovich, grandson of Aleksandr Nevsky.
In 1304, during the confrontation between Yuri Danilovich of Moscow and Mikhail Yaroslavich of Tver, Boris Danilovich was sent by his elder brother Yuri to reign in Kostroma, where he was captured and taken to Tver. He was soon released and, in 1305, returned to Moscow. In 1307, as a result of contradictions with his elder brother, Yuri, Boris and his brother Aleksandr were sent to Tver. In 1311, the childless city prince Mikhail Andreyevich, while the ambassados of Moscow were trying to persuade the khan of the Golden Horde to cede the town of Gorodets, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast to their prince, Yuri, without waiting for the Khan's decision, arbitrarily took this land from the Princes of Suzdal, leaving Boris there and transferring the capital pf the Principality of Gorodets (Nizhny-Novgorod) from Gorodets to Nizhny Novgorod.
In 1317, in a battle near the village of Bortenev, Boris was taken prisoner and stayed in captitivity in Tver captivity, from which he was later released.
He died on May 30, 1320. Buried in the Dormition Cathedral of Vladimir.
