Carol (Citta) Davila was born 1886 in Romania to Alexandru Davila (1862-1929) and Hortense Keminger (c1865-c1935) and died 1963 New York City, New York, United States of unspecified causes. He married Arabella Yarka (1890-1955) 1913 in Bucharest, Romania.
Carol (Citta) Davila was minister plenipotentiary of Romania in Warsaw and in Washington, D.C.. He purchased for the Romanian Government the building for the present location of the Embassy of Romania and for the residence of the Romanian ambassador.
He was however extremely critical over the liaison of king Carol II of Romania with Elena Lupescu. He also supported a press campaign against the king and his entourage.
King Carol fired Carol Davila and withdrew his Romanian citizenship. Despite this, Carol (Citta) Davila was active in the opposition of Romanian exiles against the alliance of Romania with Germany during World War II. He also was member of the National Romanian Committee in Exile organized after the communist takeover of Romania.
He died completely destitute in New York City in 1963.
