Genealogy is the study of family histories and ancestral lines.

This category is the "top level", or the "primal ancestor", of our category thicket. As with human family trees, category paths can re-merge a couple of generations down and can undergo births and deaths that change the linkages.

Those that are not subcategories of any other category appear alphanumerically in Special:Uncategorizedcategories, while categories that have been linked to but not edited are in Special:Wantedcategories in descending order of number of links; all (except this category) should be given at least one parent category, and most should get two or more.
