These category indexes show dead-ends of ancestral research. They also collect in one category people who have a reasonable chance of being related by name or locality, so that it is easier to identify who to work on when trying to connect them together. People who appear on these lists have a male parent with a first or last name "[[Unknown (?)]]".

The format, chosen to make best use of the inbuilt wiki indexing methods (without too much strain on idiomatic English phraseology), is:

(Right to Left):
  • Surname
    • Country (every country the person is known to have lived in)
      • Region (such as county or state)
        • Place (if the place is very large such as Sydney or Bei Jing and/or happens to have many pages for unlinked individuals in the database)

Each extension of the name is a new category index level. For example, in ever-increasing depth:

and so on; but not good to go further until there are two or three pages for any proposed sub-subcategory
