Charles-Emmanuel I le Grand de Savoie was born 12 January 1562 in Rivoli, Piedmont, Italy to Emmanuel-Philibert de Savoie (1528-1580) and Marguerite of Angoulême (1523-1574) and died 27 July 1630 in Savigliano, Piedmont, Italy of unspecified causes. He married Catherine Michelle of Spain (1567-1597) 15 March 1585 in Zaragoza, Spain.
