Mr. Charles 'Al' Ashworth, 95, of Little Falls, New York, formerly of Westbrookville, New York, passed away on Sunday morning, August 27, 2006 at Little Falls Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility. Al was born in Westbrookville on July 11, 1911, the son of the late Daniel and the late Sybil Decker Ashworth. Al was united in marriage with Ruth Cuddeback in Port Jervis. The couple have enjoyed a blessed union of seventy years. He was a partner in the family business known as the Ashworth Woolen Mill Factory in Westbrookville. He also worked as a fireman at the NYS Training School located in Otisville and New Hampton, NY. He was a longtime member of the Westbrookville Fire Dept. The couple has resided in Little Falls for the past twenty years. Al loved his family. He had a wonderful appreciation and love for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his beloved wife, Ruth of Little Falls, NY; two children: Shirley Wilcox and her husband, Frank of Little Falls and Sharon Rice and her husband, Art of Mohawk, New York; his grandchildren: Sarah Adelman and her husband, Todd and Rachael Wilcox all of Newton, MA, Jessica Gardner and her husband, Geoffrey of Menands, New York, Michelle Dumas and her husband, Andy of Jefferson, New York; great-grandchildren: Daniel, Rebecca & Elizabeth Adelman, and Alexia & Kara Dumas. Besides his parents, Al was predeceased by two brothers and one sister [Curtis W. Ashworth, Daniel C. Ashworth, and Ellen Ashworth Griffin]. As Al requested, he will be buried in the Rural Valley Cemetery, Cuddebackville, New York. Relatives and friends are invited to a graveside service which will commence on Friday, September 1, 2006 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Jeffrey Farley officiating.
