He was born in Öhringen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.


He had a sister who was also born in Öhringen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany: Frieda Vogsberger (1873-?) who married Christian Becker. Christian was a furrier. Christina and Frieda lived in Harrison, Westchester County, New York.


Charles married Mary Agnes Heeb (1886-1968) on March 26, 1906 in the Bronx.



Charles got into the fur trade through his sister's husband, Christian Becker, who was a fur buyer. Christian would travel to Russia to buy furs and then sell them in New York.


Charles died on June 07, 1917, at age 37, in the Bronx. His death certificate was number "4088".


He was buried on June 09, 1917 at Saint Michael's Cemetery, 7202 Astoria Boulevard, East Elmhurst, Queens County, New York.

After he died his widow married an older man: Anthony Rensing. He may be the Anthony Rensing (1867-1935) in the New York Death Index.
