Charles and his father appear in the 1880 United States Census working as cabinetmakers in Jersey City. Charles and his wife, Mary, appear in the 1900 United States Census living at 90 Woodward Avenue, with his father living in the next house. In the 1920 United States Census Charles and Mary are living at 466 Communipaw Avenue in Jersey City and Charles is working at his own produce store.
