he is found voting in st. tammany in 1833.

was taxed 47 cents in 1865, st. tammany.
he was given 160 acres of land and a pension of $8 per month.
an alexander magee (born circa 1819 la) was living with the family in the 1850 census. this must have been a younger brother or more likely his son from a previous marriage.
(another possible son from this first marriage is david, born abt 1825; about the time his first wife, if there was one would have died.)
also in the household in the 1850 census was a john montgomery, b. abt 1821 ireland, a school teacher, and his son, john, b. abt 1837, ireland.
value of real estate in 1870 = $200
value of personal estate = $125
