Very little is known of their early life. By 1851 when Edward Hurcombe Baglin, her husband, was aged 70 he was a Grocer and Christiana his Grocer's Assistant.
Also in the 1851 Census Edward and Christiana had two grandsons staying with them, John Price (aged 13) and Thomas Price (aged 11) but no trace of Mary, their mother, in the Census records for Uley or the surrounding villages? Sometime after the 1851 Census Christiana and Edward moved to the neighbouring town of Dursley, Gloucestershire, 3.5 miles (5.6 Km) from Uley.
