Biography

Clarence Irwin Aquila Lee was born 21 August 1880 in Bexhill, New South Wales, Australia to Hezekiah Lee (1857-1928) and Rachel Anne Starr (1859-1936) and died 25 March 1948 Brisbane Hospital, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia of cerebral haemorrhage, hypertension. He married Ann Pascoe (1881-1956) 27 July 1910 in Wesley Church, Charles-street, Perth, Western Australia, Australia.





Obituary

MR. CLARENCE LEE

The death has occurred in Brisbane of Mr. Clarence Irwin Lee, a former Mayor of South Grafton. He was 68 years of age.

As a boy, Mr. Lee was employed by Gerard and Co., and later went to West Australia. He married there and returned to Grafton, where he was manager of several departments at Gerard and Co.

In 1916 he opened business at South Grafton and took a keen interest in civic affairs. He was a member of the first council constituted under the Clarence River County Council.

Mr. Lee was also choir master of the South Grafton Methodist Church.

Later he went to Queensland and conducted a block of flats in Brisbane for 12 years. During that time he was a member of the board of the Property Owners' Association.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. A. Lee.
