Middletown Times Herald Record, February 06, 1972: "Clinton L. McDowell, New Hampton -- Clinton L. McDowell, 57 of RD 1, New Hampton, died Saturday at his home. He was born Oct. 4, 1914, in Winterton to Orrin and Victoria Hubbard McDowell and married the former Rita Ryerson. McDowell was a retired operating engineer in the heavy construction industry and lived at New Hampton four months. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion, both in Port Jervis. He is survived by his widow; three sons, Clinton D. of Newburgh, Harold at home and Robert of Port Jervis; two daughters, Sharon at home and Mrs. Marie Marsh of Westfall Township, Pa.; three brothers Leslie of Beacon, Ace of Middletown and David Brown of Greenville; five sisters, Mrs. Nellie Renner of Otisville, Mrs. Mary Decker of Slate Hill, Mrs. Agnes Pierce of Middletown, Mrs. Dorothy Stall of Franklin, N.J., and Mrs. Betty Adams of Florida; 1 grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Services will be Tuesday at a time to be announced at the Gray Funeral Home, 100 E. Main St., Port Jervis. Burial will be in Westbrookville Cemetery, Westbrookville. Friends may call at the funeral home today from 7 - 9 Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 and "Monday" prior to the funeral."
