Cornelis van Foreest (Hoorn, February 10 1704 - There, August 11 1761), was Lord of Schoorl en Camp and lord of Slot Egmond, was mayor and town council of Hoorn, A member of the Committed Councils in Holland in the Northern Quarter, Committed the Admiralty of West Friesland and the Northern Quarter and governor of the East India Company and Chartered West India Company. He was also top country of Beemster and Schermer and top country of the Locks of the Kennemerland and West-Friesland.
Cornelis van Foreest was born as the son of Dirk van Foreest (1676-1717) en Eva Maria de Groot (1677-1706). On september 5 1728 he married with Maria Eva van Akerlaken (1705–1736), daughter of the Regent Joan van Akerlaken and Petronella Merens. They get 3 daughters and 4 sons. The oldest son Dirk van Foreest (1729-1782) got al his fathers rights as lord and settled down in Alkmaar. De jongste zoon Joan van Foreest (1733-1766) would ,like his father, become regent and leader of the VOC and WIC.
