An American pioneer and hunter whose frontier exploits made him one of the first folk heroes of the United States. Boone is most famous for his exploration and settlement of what is now the U.S. state of Kentucky, which was then beyond the western borders of the Thirteen Colonies.

Biography

Daniel Boone was born 2 November 1734 in Daniel Boone Homestead, Oley Valley, Berks County, Pennsylvania, United States to Squire Boone (1696) and Sarah Morgan (1700) and died 26 September 1820 Nathan Boone's house, Femme Osage Creek, St. Charles County, Missouri, United States of unspecified causes. He married Rebecca Bryan (1739) 14 August 1756 in Rowan County, North Carolina, United States.
