David Reeve Spiller (1856-1925) was born in London, England in 1856 and died in London, England in 1925 aged sixty-eight.

Biography[]

David Reeve Spiller was born on 25 September 1856 and christened on 10 January 1860, named after his maternal grandfather. His parents were Isaac and Ann Amelia Reeve (1834-1906). Two of his sisters, Annie and Emily, were christened on the same day. At the time Annie was three and Emily was two months. Isaac and Ann appeared to have split up by 1881, because the census shows Isaac Spiller, a musician, living with his daughter and sister-in-law. He says he is widowed. However, an Ann Spiller, lodging house keeper is also living in London, married and head of the household. In 1901 the census reveals Isaac Spiller, musician living in Lambeth and Ann Spiller, dressmaker, living in Newington.

In the 1881 census David Spiller, an auctioneer's clerk is vistiting Amelia Gardner, a domestic servant to Ellen Neilson at 265 Fulham Road, London. Five years later David and Amelia married in Kensington.

In 1901 David Spiller is living in Chelsea, a musician. He remained in Chelsea until his death in 1925 aged sixty-eight.
