Vital statisticsEdit

On marriage certificate: Denis Breen and Johanna Maher, bachelor and spinster, were married at Goulburn on 12 January 1857. Denis was a farmer and they both resided at Grabben Gullen (near Crookwell, and thank goodness for the net because I couldn't read the first word of that name!) Denis signed with his X mark, and it was witnessed by Stephen (?) Stapleton and Mary Maher her X mark by (probably) Richard Walsh (and another word, unreadable).

On death certificate: Denis died on 25th May 1884 near Canowindra. He was a farmer and 49 years old. He died of "injuries accidentally received". All parents information is "unknown". The informant was J.T. West, Coroner, Cowra. The death was registered at Cowra on the 28th May 1884 and the name M. Simpson is also in that spot on the certificate. Denis was buried at Canowindra on the 27th May 1884 and the undertaker was W.M. Murry of Canowindra. No religion was mentioned, but it was stated that he was born in Ireland, he was married, but no other details and children were not known!
