  269. ^ Ruth Nadauld Lish 1920 ~ 2006 Ruth was born the seventh of nine children to George Albert and Lillian Young Nadauld in Rexburg, Idaho, June 17, 1920. The last 10 years of her life she endured a long and courageous battle with many health problems, finally losing a painful struggle to pancreatic cancer August 12, 2006. Ruth married her love, Farrel P. Lish, August 15, 1941. They were sealed for time and eternity in the LDS Salt Lake Temple and married for 65 years. They were active members of the LDS Church, and she held various positions of service throughout her life. Farrel and Ruth had a rich and full life with a family of four daughters, 11 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Ruth was a talented musician who played the clarinet as a young girl, and as an older woman, learned to play the guitar. She had a beautiful singing voice and sang for many years with the Sweet Adeline's and the Bountiful 11th LDS Ward Choir. Music was a deep part of her life and imbued her with a strong sense of self. Ruth was highly intuitive, perceptive, and intelligent. She graduated from LDS Business College and worked as a legal secretary for many years. She was active, caring, and always on the move, involving herself in many creative activities, quilting, sewing, genealogy, knitting, and crocheting. Ruth loved her roses and often relaxed in the beauty of her yard. She enjoyed all parts of nature and spent many hours feeding and watching the multitude of birds that visited the patio. She was a great golfer and was proud of her hole-in-one that made her husband and sons-in-law very envious. Ruth loved camping, skiing, and often told stories of swimming in the Snake River rapids with her many brothers and sisters. She was an excellent cook. Feeding and entertaining the family was an integral part of her many gifts and talents. She was adventurous, loved to travel, and was quick to make new and fun loving friends. Yet, she always remained true to her lifelong friends and neighbors. She was indeed a social butterfly. Central to Ruth's life was her love for family. She was fiercely loyal, protective and capable, and especially dedicated her life to her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Ruth was a beautiful woman of strength who will always live forever in our hearts. Ruth is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Farrel, four daughters and their families, Sherrie Contreras (Richard), Kristin Lish, Launee Simmonds (Rick), and Lisa Webster (Stew). She is also survived by her sister, Eva Pleis (Karen Chandler). She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Zola Quist; and brothers, Stravell, LaVaur, Harold, Duaine, Gordon, and Max. The family wishes to sincerely thank Dr. Scott Southworth and all the staff at Orchard Cove Skilled Nursing Facility for their compassionate and loving care. They truly made a difference. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 17, 2006 at 12 noon in the LDS Bountiful 11th Ward chapel, 115 East Wicker Lane, Bountiful, 84010, with a viewing at 11 a.m. There is also a viewing Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Lakeview Mortuary, 1640 Lakeview Drive, Bountiful. Interment will be Lakeview Memorial Cemetery in Bountiful.

  441. ^ History of Alameda Co, CA Vol. 2. illus. S. J. Clark Pub Co. Chicago, IL. 1928. p. 135. Audubon J. Woolsey. Among the prominent representatives of the legal profession in Oakland is numbered Audubon J. Woolsey, who has a large and representative clientele and is regarded as one of the strongest and most dependable members of the Alameda county bar. Mr. Woolsey was born on the 22nd of Sep 1879 in the city in which he now lives and is and son of James B. and Hannah M. (Reeve) Woolsey. The father crossed the plains to Calif in 1850 and for a time worked in the mines. He then located in Berkeley and farmed one hundred and sixty acres of land, lying on the line between Berkeley and Oakland. This tract is now very valuable and on it many fine homes have been built. however, Mr. Woolsey did not profit from this enhancement of value, as he sold the land many years ago and retired, his death occurring in August 1918 at the advanced age of ninety-six years. He was a man of prominence in his community and served one term as a member of the board of county supervisors. Hannah M. Reeve was brought across the plains in her young girlhood and was md to Mr. Woolsey in Gilroy, CA. Her death occurred in Jan 1927. A. J. Woolsey attended the public and high schools of Berkeley and then entered the Univ of CA, from which he was graduated with the degree of Bachelor of Science in 1903. He then began the study of land in 1909 was admitted to the bar. In his practrice he has been more than ordinarily successful, being regarded as a sound and safe advisor in legal matters and reliable as a trial lawyer. Mr. Woolsey was united in marriage to Miss Mary Priestley, who was born and reared in this state, and they are the parents of a daughter, Constance. Mr. Woolsey is a member of the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks, the Athens Club and the California State Bar Association. A man of sterling character, fine public spirit, courteous and friendly manner, he commands to a marked degree the esteem of his fellowmen and is regarded as one of the representative men of his city.

  466. ^ HIST: HISTORY OF BRIDGEPORT AND VICINITY. Illustrated. S. J. Clarke Pub. Co, Chicago. 1917, vol II: 243-4. "DAVID FOWLER WOOLSEY. There is much historic interest that centers around the name of David Fowler Woolsey and his family. He was born in Newburgh, NY, 3 Mar 1808 and in NYC learned the carpenter's trade. In 1850 he removed with his family from Jordan, NY to Bridgeport and became connected with the carriage making business of J. Mott & Co. on State street, remaining with that firm as long as they continued as active agents in the field. They built carriages and coaches and always had a new carriage for the governor of the state upon his inauguration. Mr. Woolsey had charge of the finishing department, so that his work was of a most important and responsible character. He was the inventor of a coach handle for the door which would open from both the inside and outside and upon this secured a patent. After the firm of J. Mott & Co. discontinued business, Mr. Woolsey lived retired until his death. In NY on 24 Dec 1828 David F. Woolsey was united in marriage to Miss Sarah Ann Burr, a d/o Nathaniel and Sally Burr. The former was a s/o Isaac and Abigail (Beardsley) Burr and Isaac Burr was a son of Capt. Nathaniel and Mary (Turney) Burr, of Fairfield, in whose family were four children..- To David Fowler Woolsey and Sarah Ann Burr were born eight children, six of whom lived to adult age, i.e. the following children: 1. Mary L. became the wife of John H. Proud and has passed away, but her dau Miss Mary W. Proud is living in Bridgeport; 2. Sarah J. became the wife of Richard S. De Lamater, a well-known photographer, but is now deceased. They were the parents of Capt. Richard W. De Lameter, of Hartford; 3. Electa md Charles H. Curtis, of Bridgeport, but is now deceased; 4. Susan A. became the wife of Noble G. Olds, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, who was a manufacturer of wheels, it being the largest factory of its kind in the country. They were md in Bridgeport 15 Oct 1873 and Mr. Olds passed away in Apr 1876, since which time Mrs. Olds has made her home in Bridgeport; 5. John H. the next of the family, died in 1896. He was in the naval service in the Civil War; 6. Augusta W. became the wife of James Eadie, 24 Dec 1868. He was b in Thompsonville and was connected with the Underwood Typewriter Co at Hartford, but is now a resident of Bridgeport.
