Donald Arthur Stickler was born 22 June 1911 in Queensland, Australia (Einsley Sheep and Cattle station) to Albert Thomas Arthur Stickler (1882-1910) and Maud Lilley Burgess (1875-1962) and died 15 May 1986 Royal Brisbane Hospital, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia of stroke. He married Olive Emily Black (1913-1970) 25 May 1931 in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. He married Kathleen Joyce Hyne (1912-1974) 11 April 1942 in Albert Street Methodist Church, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.

Donald, the second son of Albert Thomas Arthur Stickler (1882-1920) and Maud Lilley Burgess (1875-1962) was born at Einsley Sheep and Cattle station, Australia, on 22 June 1911, only six months after his father's tragic death. Like his older brother (Harold Thomas Arthur Stickler) he married twice; first to Olive Emily Black (1913-1970) on the 25 May 1931 and then to Kathleen Joyce Hyne (1912-1974) on 11 April 1942. Kathleen was born in Australia on 19 November 1912, and died from Cancer in Brisbane, Australia, on 11 January 1974. They had two children: Robyn Kay Stickler and Gary James Stickler.

Donald, a Sergeant in the Army during the Second World War, lived at 11th Avenue, Brisbane, Australia. He was a very healthy, but slightly built man. A great reader and loved nothing better than a good stimulating conversation. He died from a stroke on 15 May 1986, a month before his 75th birthday, at the Royal Brisbane Hospital. His death was a shock to the family as they thought he would live on until his 90's, as his grandparents did on the Stickler side. Apart from the stroke, the only other time he was in Hospital was when Cataracts were removed from his eyes.
