Dorothea Reuß zu Gera was born 28 October 1570 in Gera to Heinrich XVII. Reuß zu Gera (1530-1572) and Dorothea zu Solms-Laubach-Sonnenwalde (1547-1595) and died 2 December 1631 Obersontheim of unspecified causes. She married Georg Friedrich I. von Hohenlohe-Waldenburg (1562-1600) 21 August 1586 in Waldenburg.
