Douglas John Atkinson was born circa 1850 in Australia and died 20 September 1915 in "Shirley", 13 Shoobra road, Elsternwick, Victoria, Australia of unspecified causes. He married Eliza Barham Green (1854-1941) 22 June 1887 in St. Patrick's Cathedral, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
