Obituary
Lady Abbott, widow of the late Sir Joseph Abbott, died yesterday at her home at 99 Macleay-street. She was a daughter of the late Mr. John Solomon, of Maitland, and is survived by two daughters, Miss L. Abbott, of Sydney, and Mrs. Newton, of Scone, and Mr. J. P. Abbott of Murulla (Wingen), Senator-elect M. Abbott. Mr. J. H. M. Abbott, and Mrs. N. C. Simpson are step-children. The funeral takes place this afternoon.
Funeral
The funeral of Lady Abbott, widow of the late Sir Joseph Palmer Abbott, K.C.M.G., who died at her home, Macleay-street, Potts Point, on Sunday, took place yesterday to the Waverley cemetery. The cortege moved from St. John's Church, Darlinghurst, after a service conducted by the Rev. C. Lucas, assisted by the Rev. R. Cameron, of Turramurra, and they also performed the last rites at the graveside.
The principal mourners were :-Miss L. A. Abbott, Sydney, and Mrs. J. V. Newton, Scone (daughters), Mr. J. P. Abbott (son), Senator-elect Macartney Abbott, (stepson), and Mrs. Abbott; Mr. P. C. Kater (son-in-law), Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Vindin, Mr. Macartney Abbott, junior, Mr. Terence Abbott (grandsons).
Among those present were:-Mr. H. L. Harnett (representing Sir Daniel Levy, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly), Mr. T. G. McKinney (representing Colonel E. J.
