Elizabeth Marks was born circa 1812 in Ireland and died 26 March 1890 in Ingelba, New South Wales, Australia of unspecified causes. She married Alexander Cameron (c1807-1854) 1 July 1836 in Port Macquarie, New South Wales, Australia.

The family story is that she is the offspring of an illicit liaison between Andrew Redmond Murray-Prior (c1786-?) and Sarah Butler (?-1838).
