Obituary

MRS. D. MAHER.

The death occurred at Tamworth Hospital on February 17, after a short illness of Mrs. D. Maher, Marius Street, Tamworth. The late Mrs. Maher was born at Tia 61 years ago, and after her marriage resided at Woolbrook for a number of years. Leaving there with her husband and family she went to Warwick (Q.), and finally to Tamworth in 1926. The deceased lady is survived by her husband, six sons, Messrs. Ernest, Jack, Cecil, Eric, Ron and Edgar Maher (Tamworth), and three daughters, Sister Mary Julie (Dominican Convent, Mayfield), and Misses Nita and Doris Maher (Tamworth). One brother, Mr. Charles Ahrens (Tia), and three sisters, Mrs Chandler (Yarrowltch), Mrs Hogno (Walcha), and Mrs. Hipkins (Waihi, N.Z.) also survive. The funeral, which took place from St. Nicholas' Roman Catholic Church, was largely attended, members of the Hibernian and St. Vincent de Paul Societies, and children of Mary being present in regalia. Rev. Father Stephenson read the service.
