She married William Edward Andrew Cunneen (1857-1930) 16 May 1880 in Singleton, New South Wales, Australia. Ancestors are from Australia, the United Kingdom.

The death took place at the Centauer Private Hospital, Newcastle, of Mrs. Ellen Cunnen, of Muswellbrook, in her 83rd. year. She was predeceased by her husband 17 years ago. Born in the Singleton district, Mrs. Cunneen resided there until 1916, when she came to Muswellbrook, where she had resided until five months ago.
Deceased leaves a family of two sons and two daughters, Mr. O. F. Cunneen (Newcastle), Mr. B. A. Cuneen (Muswellbrook), Mrs. E. Smith (Muswellbrook), and Mrs. G. Bullock (Tweed Heads); also 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The interment took place at the Catholic portion of the Sandgate cemetery.
A brother, Mr. William Irwin, formerly of Muswellbrook, resides at Belmont.
