Biography

Faith Hutchinson was baptized at Alford, Lincolnshire, 14 Aug 1617, daughter of WILLIAM HUTCHINSON {1635, Boston}, & his wife the famous parson's daughter & sister, Anne (Marbury) Hutchinson, who spoke for herself. She married (1) By 1637, Thomas Savage, who came to Boston in 1635 on the "Planter."

She died at Boston on 20 February 1651[/2] (three days after the birth of her last child).

Marriage & Family

They had 7 children: Habajah, Thomas, Hannah Gillam Sylvester, Ephriam, Mary Thatcher, Dionesia Ravenscroft Hadley, & Perez. Faith died on 20 February 1652. On 15 September Thomas married Mary, daughter of the Rev. Zechariah Symonds of Charlestown, by whom he had eight sons and three daughters. She survived him, and afterwards married Anthony Stoddard.

Will of Samuel Hutchinson

Samuel Hutchinson (1624-), younger brother of of Faith left a will that is noteworthy for identifying each of the 7 children of Faith and Thomas.

In his will of 7 April 1677, "Samuel Hutchinson of Boston" bequeathed to "[blank], Thomas, Ephraim, [blank], Mary & Dine Savage & Hannah Gillam the seven children of my cousin Faith Savage deceased twenty shillings apiece." The two names missing from this damaged document are the sons Habijah and Perez.
