I was wondering if Familypedia is setup to run queries against other Semantic Websites and vice versa. Usually this is done using SPARQL or some version of SPARQL or some variation of SPARQL. I have a genealogy site that uses Semantic MediaWiki also; it is called My Family Lineage. It uses the vocabularies BIO: A vocabulary for biographical information which is described here: http://vocab.org/bio/0.1/.html and rel: RELATIONSHIP: A vocabulary for describing relationships between people which is at: http://vocab.org/relationship/.html as well as FOAF: http://xmlns.com/foaf/spec/

Could we work together to expand the features of both websites? The website I am helping to develop, My Family Lineage along with Familypedia should be listed in the linked open data cloud. It is necessary for a site that wants to be part of that to be linked with other sites that are related to one another.

Let me check this out: you are asking how does Wikia, Inc. feel about hosting Familypedia data, and then running queries on their servers against that data, for display on a third-party site? I would say that if you are not offering a countervailing revenue stream, then it breaks their business model, and so is probably contrary to the terms-of-use. Thurstan 04:19, April 3, 2012 (UTC)

No, I was thinking that with the use of Semantic Web Extensions that Familypedia is using, and the connection to open linked data principles that underlie the Semantic Web Bundle of extensions, that it would be logical to make use of these collaborative features of the global graph, the global database, as it were. This adds to the value of any site by making the connection to the giant global data cloud that is the Semantic Web.

Isn't that why we choose to use the Semantic Web Bundle of extensions? It takes collaboration so much further than what can be contained on one site url.
