Now that the Bots are hard at work doing their admirable job of fixing things that need fixing---I have a question about the notifications. These changes trigger a notification of a change to the pages I'm watching. (Yes, I'm still watching. Just because I'm doing something different doesn't mean that I have no interest in what's here.) Does that mean that I have to visit each and every page that's been changed by a bot in order to maintain them on my watch list? Bill Willis 23:12, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

Check out the Watchlist tab of Special:Preferences. You can choose to hide bot edits there. -AMK152(talkcontribs) 23:24, 2 August 2008 (UTC)
Changes to a page's content are highly unlikely to drop the page off your watchlist; but a page name change might - either way, the presence of a bot is unlikely to affect your watchlist contents in a different way from how a human user would affect it. Would you like us to set up a test? Robin Patterson 06:32, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
If you have a lot of "Category:Xyz Surname" on your watchlist, prepare for a flood of notices about name changes. AMK has agreed to give me a bit of notice before his bot hits several thousand, and one of us could notify you too. I may shut off my email notifications while the bot's doing that. Or I could just take such cats off my watchlist; slightly less work than recognising and deleting emails. Robin Patterson 06:32, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
