I notice that Robin has added the {{alsoWP}} template. That's useful---no need to reinvent the wheel. However, it's also useful to take the Wikipedia articles in some cases, and import as the basis for a Genealogy wiki article that needs a slightly different template. For example, Wikipedia has an article entitled Måns Andersson. That doesn't fit the Genealogy wiki article title requirements which are more like Måns Andersson (?-aft1679). If you insert the {{alsoWP}} template into an article on this site it will create a link to a Wikipedia article of exactly the same name as the Genealogy wiki article, even if that's not the Wikipedia name. We need a template that identifies the Wikipedia article by its Wikipedia article name — ie Måns Andersson. Bill 13:47, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
- One of the older templates with a slightly longer but similar name has the facility for a piped link that may show the Wikipedia name when it differs from ours, but I'm not sure how much difference it tolerates. See Template talk:Also on Wikipedia. User:Chadlupkes gave it to us. If that doesn't handle substantive differences, then I agree that something a little easier than an "External links" paragraph would be of value. Robin Patterson 12:41, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
