Friedrich Franz II. zu Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Großherzog von Mecklenburg-Schwerin, was born 28 February 1823 in Ludwigslust, Germany to Paul Friedrich von Mecklenburg-Schwerin (1800-1842) and Alexandrine von Preußen (1803-1892) and died 15 April 1883 in Schwerin, Germany of unspecified causes. He married Auguste Reuß zu Schleiz-Köstritz (1822-1862) 3 November 1849 in Ludwigslust, Germany. He married Anna von Hessen und bei Rhein (1843-1865) 4 July 1864 in Darmstadt, Germany. He married Marie von Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt (1850-1922) 4 July 1868 in Rudolstadt, Germany.
