Biography

Friedrich III. von Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorf, Herzog von Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorf, was born 22 December 1597 in Gottorf Castle to Johann Adolf von Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorf (1575-1616) and Augusta of Denmark (1580-1639) and died 10 August 1659 in Tönning of unspecified causes. He married Marie Elisabeth von Sachsen (1610-1684) 21 February 1630 in Dresden.
