George Finch-Hatton was born 30 June 1747 in London, Greater London, England, United Kingdom to Edward Finch (c1697-1771) and Elizabeth Palmer (c1709-) and died 17 February 1823 of unspecified causes. He married Elizabeth Mary Murray (1760-1825) 10 December 1785 in United Kingdom.

George Finch-Hatton (30 June 1747 – 17 February 1823) was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1772 to 1784.

Finch-Hatton was born George Finch, the son of the Honourable Edward Finch-Hatton, fifth son of Daniel Finch, 7th Earl of Winchilsea.[1] He was educated at Westminster School and at Christ's College, Cambridge, being awarded MA in 1768. He assumed the additional surname of Hatton (his paternal grandmother's name) together with his father in 1764.[2]

Finch-Hatton was elected Member of Parliament for Rochester in 1772[3] and held the seat until 1784 when he stood unsuccessfully.[4]

Finch-Hatton married Lady Elizabeth Mary, daughter of David Murray, 2nd Earl of Mansfield, in 1785. He died in February 1823, aged 75. They lived at Eastwell Park, Kent. Lady Elizabeth died in June 1825, aged 65. Their son George succeeded in the earldoms of Winchilsea and Nottingham in 1826.[1] Finch-Hatton also had estates at Kirby, Northamptonshire.[2]
