George Haggar (1836-?)


George Haggar was born in 1836 in Barkway, Hertfordshire, England. George married Hester (born 1847 in Reed, Hertfordshire). George was an agricultural labourer. George and Elizabeth had four children:

  • John Haggar (1868) born in Reed, Hertfordshire, agricultural labourer
  • Florence Haggar (1871) born in Hunsdon, Hertfordshire
  • Frank Haggar (1873) born in Hunsdon, Hertfordshire
  • Ernest Haggar (1877) born in Hunsdon, Hertfordshire

In the 1881 census, George and his family were living in Acorn Street, Hunsdon, Hertfordshire. On one side, lived Jane Wheal, sixty years old, her grandaughter Flora, and a boarder, fifty-nine year old carman James Brown. Living on the other side was Charles Boultwood, a forty-three year old blacksmith, his wife Annie, and their children William, Jessie, Charles, John and George, and also his father William, a retired labourer.
