He was the son of William Rankin (1841-after1880) and Mary A. Rafferty (1843-after1880).

George married Catherine Doyle (1869-1897) aka Katherine Doyle around 1889 in Manhattan, New York City, New York.

Death of wifeEdit

Katherine died on April 28, 1897 in Manhattan under the name "Katherine Rankin". Her death certificate number was "13133".


Second marriageEdit

In 1905 George married Margaret Hogan (1872-?).

Jersey City, New JerseyEdit

In 1910 the family was living at 64 Rose Avenue in Jersey City, New Jersey with the Gelchions. The Gelchions were related to Katherine Agnes McLaughlin (1893-1989). In 1920 the family was living at 14 New Street in Jersey City, New Jersey. George was a shipping clerk at the brass works. His son William was working as a barge inspector; and Esther was working as a machine operator in a printing house; and Mary was working as a machine operator in a warehouse.
