DEATH OF MR. GEO. STERNBECK, SENIOR

Mr George Sternbeck, sen., an old and well respected resident of this town, died on Thursday evening at the residence of his son, Mr H. E. Sternbeck, Sydney. Deceased had been ailing for some time, but was able to get about fairly well. It is thought that he fell down in his room early on Thursday morning, as he was found unconscious on the floor there. He never regained consciousness but passed away about 8 p.m. He was 75 years of age and for the last seven or eight years had lived with the son named above. Prior to coming to Muswellbrook the deceased lived at Maitland and on the Hawkesbury River, where he followed farming and grazing pursuits with considerable success. He was twice married, the children of his first wife were Messrs H E, G E, T A, and John (sons). Mrs Wilson of Kurri Kurri, and Mrs C T Tegort of Tumbarumba. Frances and Malcolm, residing at West Maitland, are children of the second wife, who is left a widow. General sympathy is expressed with the family in their bereavement. The funeral will take place at 10 o'clock this (Saturday) morning. The cause of death has been certified as cerebral hemorrhage.
