George Stickler was born 20 August 1874 in Lansford, Pennsylvania, United States to Issac Mealing Stickler (1848-1910) and Martha Ann Hill (1857-1941) . He married Rose Hines (?-?) 1 June 1904 in United States.

In September 1897 he completed seven months of studying shorthand at Oswego, New York with the intention of working as a stenographer. He lived in Jamestown for a time when he met amd married Rose Hine, also of Jamestown. George and Rose made their home at 409 East 19th Street, Flatbush, Brooklyn, New York.
George proved to be a successful businessman and worked in an office in the New York Life Building, Madison Avenue, New York selling office equipment to New York Life. He and Rose had two children, Helen and James.
Prior to WWI, George and Rose and their son James, who was crippled from infantile paralysis, moved to Hawaii. Their daughter, Helen, married but later became divorced. Sometime after WWI, George and Rose moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL where he died while sitting in a chair.
