You can read and edit pages without creating an account or logging in.

However, to create an account (which is free), just click the "create an account or log in" link at the top right corner of any page. You only need a single login for all Wikia.

Advantages of registeringEdit

After four days you no longer have to suffer the Captcha process.
Other users don't have to refer to you as "good ol' 72.245.54.89".
You get your very own personal User page, where you can put just about anything you want, including, for example, a description of yourself, what lineages you are researching, etc. And jump straight to it from any other page of the wiki using the "My page" link.
Third, it makes communication with others easier. People leave each other messages on the recipient's "Talk" page, which is what you find on clicking the "discussion tab" of the User page. It is, by the way, considered impolite to edit someone else's User page as distinct from the Talk page.
Creating an account is the only way to clearly attribute your work. Without a username, edits you make on any Wikia will be attributed to the numerical IP address of your computer instead. Logging in therefore also increases your privacy, because your IP address will be hidden once you are logged in.
There are many other benefits, such as user preferences (including appearance and some of the contents of displayed pages), the ability to move pages, and a watchlist to keep an eye on selected pages. See Help:Why create an account for some more arguments.

Creating an account on Wikia is free, easy, and a great way to join a passionate community of people who love what you love. Having an account also gives you extra abilities and features that un-registered users do not have access to. How do I create an account?

On the top right of every page on Wikia you will find links to Log in and Sign up.

To sign up you can create a new account or use Facebook connect. You can also visit Special:Signup
After choosing to sign up, an account creation page will load, and allow you to fill in your account details.
All usernames on Wikia are unique, and should comply with our Terms of Use.
Once you sign up, you are now a member of the Wikia community!

As a registered user, you are able to:

Keep track of your contributions
Follow your favorite articles and receive notifications about page updates
Create a user page and communicate with other on your talk page or message wall
Personalize your preferences to tailor the functionality of Wikia to your needs and customize your personal stylesheet to change your view of Wikia sites
Upload photos and rename pages

Adjusting your account

I forgot my password. What can I do?

If you forget your password, you can request a new temporary password be sent to you on the Log-in page.
Simply click on the Log-in text on the top right. You can then choose to have a new password emailed to you.
If you remember your password, and simply want to change it, visit Special:changepassword.

Can my account be deleted?

It is not possible for accounts on Wikia to be fully deleted, but they can be disabled.

Can I change my username?

If you want to use a different username, you can request an account account rename.
