  • Henry had an impressive list of achievements after a great deal of education; thePeerage.com says "He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Wilton between 1768 and 1780. He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.) by Magdalene College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, on 3 July 1769. He was created 1st Baron Porchester of Highclere, co. Southampton [Great Britain] on 17 October 1780. He was created 1st Earl of The Town and County of Carnarvon [Great Britain] on 3 July 1793. He gained the rank of Colonel in 1794. He held the office of Master of the Horse between 1806 and 1807. He was invested as a Privy Counsellor (P.C.) on 12 February 1806."
